Please be careful. A microwave will typically have a capacitor that is capable of killing you well after it has been unplugged.

- userbinator 6y agoBeryllium is not used in magnets. There's no evidence that consumer microwave magnetrons ever used beryllium insulators either, as that is an extremely expensive material. The ceramic insulator is alumina (essentially synthetic ruby).
