A big step would be making police live where they work. There's a lot of talk about warriors coming in from outside to pacify an unruly populace.
- jelling 6y agoChicago, which has a long history of police abuse, has had residency requirement for police officers for years. What tends to happen is that officers live in one or two specific neighborhoods, far far away from the heavily policed neighborhoods. I believe it’s the same in St. Louis and other cities. This is just to say that a residency requirement is not a panacea by any means.
