The whole time I read this article, I was thinking "well, there's SOAP...". Was very surprised when I realized he was talking about something like protocol buffer. SOAP is a great way to solve the problem described in this article, but good luck creating a SOAP API in node. "What is old is new again"?
- titanomachy 6y agoSOAP has a high serialization overhead and doesn't support schema evolution.
- jugg1es 6y agoOh, it definitely has a lot of overhead but it solves the primary problem as described in this article.
- titanomachy 6y agoSure, it's a serialization standard that uses schemas. In that sense we are definitely coming around in a circle.
