I'm not even in the US, so not gonna tell MIT what they should do about it, but I wonder what US students think about getting a loan and having the uni administration pouring so much BS on them.
In my country, movies depict US campus life like having a great time, and great education.
I studied sociology in northern Spain, in a faculty stuffed with people who identified as intersectional feminist, and I had my fair share of ugly stuff (I got two professors talking about me to other classes because of my ideas). I thought I had it bad, but the more I read into what happens in US universities, the more I think it has to be a nightmare (a nightmare with loans, nonetheless).
I milked as much as I could that faculty. I'm grateful for my micro and macro economy classes, methodology, stats I & II and some more, but honestly, everywhere where this people set their feet just turned into something ridiculous.
I joined the uni in my mid 20s so maybe that has something to do with it.
