- barry-cotter 6y agoThe kind of Christian minister that cares more about, and talks more about social justice than they do about Christ.
- maxehmookau 6y agoYou're right, Jesus didn't give a damn about social justice. Christianity and the need for justice and equality are completely separate. /s
- methodsignature 6y agoF the poor, aye? Gotchu fam. Jesus would be proud.
- Minor49er 6y ago"Social justice" and "justice" aren't the same thing. Jesus cared about the latter.
- maxehmookau 6y ago...and he didn't care about the former? Seriously?
- Minor49er 6y agoNo. He wasn't a political actor. He was concerned with God's law and not the law of man. Not to mention that social justice as a concept came long after Jesus's time.
- maxehmookau 6y agoEverything is political. Social justice existed LONG before Jesus' time, it just didn't have a specific name.
- Minor49er 6y agoBiblical societies had overt caste and class systems. Social justice tries to flatten anything resembling these. You mentioned that you think Jesus was an advocate of social justice but didn't explain why. Maybe our understanding of social justice is different from one another's.
- barry-cotter 6y agoJesus was the son of God, come to bring the Kingdom of Heaven. He was not an activist. Attempting to elide the difference between the idea of justice and an ideology that’s maybe old enough to vote will not erase that distinction.
- maxehmookau 6y agoSocial justice is no more or less of an ideology than religion iself.
- vangelis 6y agoAs Jesus said, "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a poor man enter Heaven."
- yepthatsreality 6y agoBranding.
