Musk: Two COVID-19 tests came back negative, two positive. Same machine & test
- d3nj4l 6y ago... that's completely normal? Tests have false positives and negatives, and the rapid antigen test isn't as sensitive as a PCR test.
- thinkingemote 6y agoNormal in the sense of how flips of a coin give false positives and negatives with the same distribution.
- allie1 6y agoI find it interesting how everyone is running towards "tests are fake" or "they are just doing it for the money", and no one considers the implications if his experience is demonstrative; how many people test negative, and feel more comfortable spending time with others (family, people they live with etc), while potentially still positive?
- tsjq 6y agoThat's really scary, at the same level as asymptomatic-but-spreading people.
- kordlessagain 6y agoI find it interesting "everyone" still doesn't understand causality vs causation. Just because Musk says something doesn't make it true. We need better tools to measure result quality.
- s9w 6y agoHe's also getting PCR test results in the next ~20hrs. This might get interesting. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1327126667651932161 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1327126667651932161
- clankyclanker 6y agoCan we stop giving rich people megaphones just because they’re rich? His founding of PayPal is at best un-associated-with his understanding of epidemiology and biochemistry. https://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?id=1776 https://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?id=1776
