I vpn'd around, this appears to be global. While reading something unrelated my video suddenly started playing. I think it's load balancer related for whatever is serving their videos EDIT: Once you have a connection you appear to keep it the entire way through (at least it did for me with youtubedl). Something related to connection queueing...
