Is fiber still a good last mile solution compared to putting 5G on the roof?
- wffurr 6y agoYes. Dense areas or areas with poor line of sight won't be well served by 5G home service. Long distance 5G is only marginally faster than 4G, and neither is anywhere close to the bandwidth of fiber. Nothing is going to beat widely deployed fiber in urban areas.
- anderspitman 6y agoI have yet to see any wireless technology match cables for reliability, and I expect 5G to be worse, not better, in this respect.
