- kzrdude 6y agoSounds coll but the pitch doesn't have much detail. Which DAW workflows will it support to start with?
- adamnemecek 6y agoWhich ones would you want?
- enumjorge 6y agoI’m seeing a pattern in the lack of detail ;)
- adamnemecek 6y agoThe main problem is that I'm going for something somewhat different than what current DAWs are and I feel like what I'm going for will be easier to understood by seeing it. Tell me what you expect I will tell you whether your workflow is supported. If you are interested, sign up and I'll notify you when I launch.
- p0nce 6y agoKeep it up! I've subscribed. I hate most of DAWs.
- adamnemecek 6y agoThanks for the encouragement.
- mxmilkb 6y agoSomething utilising and also filling in the gaps of the JACK, LV2, and soon PipeWire based modular Linux/libre audio workstation (including NSM, CV, Atoms) but more of focus on Ableton Link than JACK Transport? Check out Agordejo, Carla, Non-Mixer/jack_mixer, seq66 (nsm branch).
- adamnemecek 6y agoI'm more focused on composition. Linux support will come at some point, not immediately. It won't be open source if that's what you are asking.
- filoleg 6y ago>I feel like what I'm going for will be easier to understood by seeing it Agreed, but I hope you realize this is pretty much why people are having such negative reactions to it in this thread. For something that is "easier to understood by seeing it", the biggest mortal sin is pushing it without having anything to actually show that people can see.
- cedex12 6y agosounds nice but the page has no content to speak of: a bit disappointing.
- adamnemecek 6y agoIt's not ready yet so I can't show you videos yet.
- capableweb 6y agoI feel like you always appear to plug your vaporware every time any music production tool comes up on the front page. I would be OK with that if what you're linking actually had some content on it or we could actually play with it. But the last 10 times I've seen you mention it, it's been without any details what so ever and without any ability to actually see/use it. Might actually been more than 10 times now when I searched for it. https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&query=ngrid.io&sort=byDate&type=all https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&que...
- adamnemecek 6y agoI don't "appear" to plug it, I plug it. Are you the person in charge of what's OK? Why do you think it's vaporware? How long do you think it takes to write a DAW?
- capableweb 6y ago> I don't "appear" to plug it, I plug it If you had something to contribute to the discussion and then plug your project, then I'd say you're just plugging it. But you're not. You're just "appearing" in threads to plug you project. It's not a side-effect of your comment, it's the entirety of your comment. Hence "appear > plug" instead of just "plug". And no, I'm not in charge of what's OK, just telling you that people are starting to see your constant, unrelated plugging as spam. And yes, it is (currently) vaporware, no matter how long time it takes to build it. Why is it vaporware? You're advertising something that currently no one can use and their is no concrete information about it. When someone asks what it is, you ask them what they want. You don't even seem to know what the project you're building is yet.
- adamnemecek 6y agoVaporware means something that has no chance of being released. My project doesn't fall into his category.
