I wish the post was more direct that .NET 5 is the successor to .NET Core 4. I gathered this was the case but it didn't feel clear that I don't need '.NET Core'

I wish the post was more direct that .NET 5 is the successor to .NET Core 4. I gathered this was the case but it didn't feel clear that I don't need '.NET Core' anymore to run .NET on mac/linux.

There is no .NET Core 4? There was a .NET Framework 4. 5 is how the streams are being crossed.
