Show HN: Ambient noise generator for Windows that I give away, coupon “NOISE”
- huhtenberg 6y ago> 314 MB Ouch.
- Ennea 6y agoThat said: I checked, and the size is mostly the sound files (which are 312 MB total). I don't mind storing a decent set of high quality ambient sound files.
- parisianka 6y agoExactly, priority on sound quality.
- huhtenberg 6y agoFair enough. Noise is hard to compress :) PS. It is called an ambient noise _generator_ though.
- eganist 6y agoAny chance of a version that doesn't require administrative privileges to install?
- parisianka 6y agoI will think about it
- parisianka 6y agoI give it away completely free during the launch period to get meaningful feedback from early adopters.
- Ennea 6y agoHere's some: only having three different volume settings is bad. The train sample seems repetitive/has obvious cuts. The noise samples are super long and therefore also large in size and can probably be cut down.
- parisianka 6y agoThank you, will check it.
- mobilio 6y agoAny chance for macOS version?
- parisianka 6y agoProbably, need to polish this one.
- frettchen 6y agoI can't speak for those who got it for free with your code, but if didn't have the code, I'd have been pretty upset to pay fifteen dollars for a desktop app only to find a tab in it letting me know that to access "premium features" I'd need to sign up (and presumably pay again/more) online.
- ta988 6y agoOn android I use Noice available from F-Droid (and maybe the playstore, no idea). Does a good job and it is Free and free.
- bonchicbongenre 6y ago+++ for Noice, I use it too and really like it. High quality sounds, and as parent commenter said, it's Free
