Going without health insurance for someone like MMM is, IMHO, extremely unwise, bordering on lunatic. MMM gets a free pass since he is Canadian and he can always high tail it back in case shit-hits-the-fan. Do not try this at home, folks!
A 40 year acquaintance complaining of body aches for over 2 years and extremely healthy was diagnosed with cancer. He had been to many doctors and took insistence from his wife for them to da scan. He will now consume healthcare in the six figures over the next several years. If he had any assets and was caught without a health plan he would atleast for a year till he could sign up be facing bills in the tens of thousands.
MMM is rolling the dice since he has the Canadian backstop.
- smnrchrds 6y agoI haven't read the whole thing but a simple Cntrl+F seems to indicate he does not mention his Canadian plan B in the article.
- haltingproblem 6y agoYes, he does not say that. But he is Canadian. Dunno if he gave up his canadian citizenship. If he did, going without insurance would be even dumber.
- smnrchrds 6y agoGiving up Canadian citizenship does not make sense. There are no tax obligations, no military service, in a nutshell no harm in keeping citizenship. And if he is Canadian, I would argue it is dishonest of him to not mention it in a post about his healthcare plan.
