I was recently given some money and splashed out £150 on an i5-6th gen desktop which lives in my roofspace. The i5 replaced my trusty dual-core. A long time ago I centralised my projects to the headless roofspace box and now run up Sublime remotely for each project (using lxc). It works great and I can code from any computer on my network. This seems easier to me than running vim and spending a month getting on top of my vimrc.
