A list of rollbacks in US environmental policy that Biden can reverse
- brundolf 6y agoI'm disturbed by the expansion of presidential power in recent decades. While I do think in this case Biden should use it to reverse what Trump did with it, I'd feel better if most of this extra-congressional stuff wasn't possible at all. Beyond obviously just giving one person too much power - which can be abused for personal gain (as we've seen) - it really amplifies the policy-churn you get each time the administration changes. And both parties share responsibility for the steady escalation we've seen.
- casefields 6y agoRepublicans pretend to hate it.(Although there's usually always a very small fraction that do hate the power and size of the federal government. Same for fiscal conservatives.) Democrats pretend to hate it only when Republicans are at the levers. They know they'll get the power back and wouldn't want to take away any future powers.
