a name is just a name. In the US there are two parties so leftists fall in either one or the other. Frankly the tactics and motivations taken by the democrat party is exactly leftist: authoritarian, pro-censorship, trying to justify authoritarian takeover by claiming social progress.

- one2know 6y agoThe 2020 democrat party falls under leftist authoritarian classification, a thin veneer of civil rights and progressive-ism on top of a thick marxist-lenenist regime shadowing the Chinese communist party's single party authoritarianism. It hates free speech, embraces censorship across the web and media, monitors and tracks people through control of big tech like apple and google, and seeks political control of corporations using the guise of social and racial activism. You can say it is not "leftist," but it certainly pretends to be.
