Yea, this is not a peer-reviewed journal in the traditional sense.
> Cureus, also known as the Cureus Journal of Medical Science, is an open access general medical journal known for its use of crowdsourcing in its peer-review process and is among the growing number of journals using prepublication and postpublication peer review.

- Noumenon72 6y agoThanks, I assumed from "nih.gov" that this was official journal of the National Institutes of Health or something.
- unishark 6y agoIt is pubmed, which is a NIH indexing service for healthcare articles. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/about/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/about/ They do only include limited journals, not garbage generally. Though I'm not sure where the line is drawn.
- jessriedel 6y agoYea, I think this is right on the line. They are attempting "crowd-sourced" peer review, which is the sort of thing that should be experimented with (so I wouldn't want to penalize them), but it's clearly not providing the kind of filter people expect of an academic journal.
