I wonder if they've done any polling to figure out the level of surveillance they can impose without triggering a brain drain.
I expect there is a phase-change somewhere before "all my communications are monitored in real time".

- forest_dweller 6y agoI wouldn't bet on it. This is entirely anedotal. But the vast majority of my co-workers I've spoken to don't seem to care about too much about things like privacy, free speech, open specs, source code availability and think I am a wacko for self hosting and running (mostly) applications and operating systems. However I am a .NET dev and the fact I am decent with a command line is seen as a bit odd. The general attitude I've encountered is well "it only happens to the bad people and nobody cares about what I do, so I don't need to worry about it and you must be a weirdo for worrying about it"
