T-Mobile will extend fast 5G service nationwide in 2021, pressuring rivals
- WarOnPrivacy 6y agoT-Mobile's 5G band set is Band n71 (600 MHz) Band n41 (2.5 GHz) Band n260 (39 GHz) Band n261 (28 GHz)[1] Only 71 is capable of traveling more than a short distance. Reports are band 71 speeds are 100Mbps-200Mbps, which is better than I expected.[2] A couple of notes. 71 is the same band used for 'enhanced' LTE. T-Mobile recently finished the nationwide rollout of band 71, to US towers. From what I can tell, that doesn't include every US tower but 1+ tower in every area. Even then, YMMV. I have a 71 capable phone and there's a (reported) 71 tower nearby but I'm always 66 or 2, never 71.
