Ask HN: Anyone else unable to checkout from Apple Store?
I am trying to get the new iPhone and the checkout keeps failing due to some JSON error. Is anyone experiencing this, and have figured out a way to get around it?
- kirillzubovsky 6y agoIt seems the problem is with their Apple Card flow. If you choose monthly payments, instead of a one-time payment, the checkout flow goes through a different process which isn't working. FYI
- draw_down 6y agoI had success but I used the Apple store app. Maybe give that a shot
- kirillzubovsky 6y agoNot sure why comment by draw_down was killed, but they are correct - doing it through the "Apple Store" app (not App Store, but Apple Store) actually worked. The reason being, I think, is that Apple Pay with Apple Card is directly integrated into the app, but fails on the web. Thank you!
- Jtsummers 6y agoIf you ever wonder why a comment is killed when it's a perfectly reasonable/normal comment, check the poster's history. It's highly likely that at some point they were shadowbanned. You can vouch for those comments (click on the time next to the comment, then click on "vouch").
