Even though Piknik has mostly replaced scp for me, scp is here to stay.
It remains the easiest way to transfer things between trusted machines that you already have ssh access to.

- sanxiyn 6y agoEh, scp-the-command (interface) may be here to stay, but scp-the-protocol (implementation) is definitely due for replacement. Under the proposed change, scp will remain the easiest way to transfer files for you. It will just no longer use outdated scp protocol and will use sftp protocol instead.
