This "one guy," if you will, is responsible for a majority of the ansible galaxy modules that are out there.
Far from a bad actor just utilizing CPU time for pet projects, Jeff's code is probably in use in a large majority of companies that use Ansible, mine included.
- longcommonname 6y agoHow much money does your company contribute to Jeff?
- joshmanders 6y agoBingoooooo. If his code is so crucial to your company, you should probably be donating to him to help pay these bills so then companies aren't the bad guy for giving thousands of dollars away for free so you can benefit off other peoples work.
- Karupan 6y ago100% this! People can’t possibly complain when companies charge for their tools. If an open source project is important to an organisation, they better start donating.
- user5994461 6y agoNitpicking here, the vast majority of companies that use Ansible do not use galaxy.
