What's the catch here?
- cambalache 6y agoNo catch, they only want to "capture" SV engineers. So if you work for Google in San Francisco and you convince your bosses you can work 3 months from Helsinki legally and hopefully for Finland form a company there or meet a Finn and bring them back to the US with you.

- tarruda 6y ago> meet a Finn and bring them back to the US with you Can you elaborate on this part?
- sulam 6y agoPerhaps trying to balance the “capture” of SV engineers? We wouldn’t want the world to fall over if the population balance got out of whack, right?
- cambalache 6y agoMr Johnny Boy, a Google engineer with 10 years of experience goes to Helsinki with this program, he loves the place but 3 months later he returns to San Francisco, 6 months later he quits Google and founds a start-up. He remembers about Linus, a young Finn who he met there and who is a OS wizard. He hires Linus as a his # 1 employee.2 years later the company is doing great so they open their European branch in... Helsinki.
- dfrsol 6y agoYou pay for everything including travel there, housing, etc.
- suyash 6y agowell what kind of relocation package is that then..thanks for clarifying.
- rendall 6y agoI thought this was not a true statement but there it is, in the ToS: Participants are responsible for the travel expenses to Finland and for any insurances the participants are willing to take. Participants are responsible for the living costs and all other personal expenses during their stay in Finland. https://www.helsinkibusinesshub.fi/90-day-finn-terms-and-conditions/ https://www.helsinkibusinesshub.fi/90-day-finn-terms-and-con...

- 533474 6y agoI called the programme organizer. The catch is that you need a job in the US that is willing to let you work remotely. There might be tax issues if u r willing to relocate ur permanent residence.
