This is correct. I strongly recommend registering a random, throwaway domain and running your own mailserver. Creating an entry in /etc/mail/aliases is just as fast as the interface on the throwaway email sites and you have much more control over the resulting inbound mail.

  I didn't say anonymous - I said random/throwaway. Start a Delaware corp (or Wyoming or Nevada, etc.), get a simple checking account with a debit card, and purchase a domain.
