Self-hosting is great, however, I did learn the hard way when not only did my server crash, but the backup solution I had instilled stopped working as well. As my future plan, I pretty much just type in a few Git commands and I have a copy on my server and in Github. Will be coming up with a few solutions to make backups of my databases.
