Google Play bans third-party app for hate-speech censorship side-stepper BitChute.
- RedComet 6y agoA mere 4-5 years ago every video service hosted the same videos they host. But opinions that dissent from that of the megacorps and media conglomerates are no longer allowed.
- hashtagmarkup 6y agoThere is a difference between a video service hosting videos, and an app store hosting 3rd party video service apps. The conflict of interest with the owners of the app store owning a competing video service app murks up the water a bit, but the difference is still clear. The video services are demonstrably still allowed to host the videos. Whether or not they can run for profit is their own problem.
- RedComet 6y agoThat has nothing to do with my original comment.
- hashtagmarkup 6y agoYour original comment had nothing to do with my original comment... that is why I responded to your original response.
- RedComet 6y agoAre you trolling? Your original response did NOT address anything I said. My initial comment IS pertinent to the original post - I succinctly pointed out a great deal of things: The irony of Google banning such and app, the blatant suppression of competitors by Google, the sheer power these corporations have over public opinion, the radical shift in corporate and media policy from "freedom of speech" to overtly suppressing speech they don't like, etc.
- hashtagmarkup 6y agoYou are trolling. Your original response did NOT address anything I said, and when I pointed that out, your response did NOT address anything I said. I hope you find success with your hate-speech videos.
- RedComet 6y ago1. You repeat the title, saying google banned a third party app for bitchute, but adding words with a negative connotation. (while openly advocating for censorship and jailing people you disagree with) 2. I note that this is hypocritical and heavy handed of google (they used to host the same videos), as well as a rapid shift in the zeitgeist. 3. You start talking about whether bitchute can profit, which seems completely irrelevant (the OP is about a third party app). Seems pretty clear-cut to me. Oh, and I don't make videos, let alone "hate-speech" videos. I'd say don't slander me, but you're doing a great job showing that the ones advocating for such censorship in the modern US are the villains.
- hashtagmarkup 6y agoYou don't understand the difference between hosting hate-speech and hosting people who host hate-speech. Seems pretty clear-cut to me.
- RedComet 6y agoGoogle became a multi-billion dollar international corporation hosting the same content you advocate against, whether through search results or youtube directly. And now that they have the money and the power, they're crushing all dissent - even dissent that they got rich hosting - all while having a revolving door between the government. There is no such thing as "hate-speech", but we both understand what you mean. You just can't stop the deflection and deceit.
- hashtagmarkup 6y agoYou are the one deflecting. My point stands on it own. You've contributed nothing. You derive personal satisfaction through hypocrisy. There certainly is hate-speech in the world... for instance, I despise hypocrites... but we both understand what I mean. Making billions of dollars WHILE hosting videos is not the same as making billions of dollars BY hosting videos. YouTube operated at a massive loss for a decade. I'm sorry billionaires are making it more difficult for you to profit through the marginalization of humans who are different than you. Good luck in the future!
