- yetihehe 6y agoAlmost pure clickbait. Article is about deepfakes, which would exist whether nvidia was making graphics cards or not.
- midef 6y agoThe point isn't about Nvidia graphic cards, but rather, the Nvidia-backed website that is being used to generate false personalities on the fly (and what people can do to avoid being tricked by the technology): https://thispersondoesnotexist.com https://thispersondoesnotexist.com
- lucideer 6y agoThat website isn't "Nvidia-backed". It's created by a private individual—Phil Wang[0]—who happened to leverage a piece of free software Nvidia produced called StyleGAN2[1] Furthermore, "false personalities" is something of a stretch for fake photos. There are plenty of "real" photos of people that haven't appeared on the internet, and even for the photos that have, most people will be fooled regardless. Generated photos don't change this: those making false representations are the only ones at fault here. Technology doesn't change this in any way. There are also plenty of these ___doesnotexist.com websites, and they would continue to exist without Nvidia. - ShamelessC 6y ago> That’s the naive and condescending advice that Nvidia gives on its This Person Does Not Exist website. Nevertheless, it’s good advice. So which is it?
- sterlind 6y agodid the article change? I don't see that there
- ShamelessC 6y agoLooks like they edited that part out, yeah.
