I don't think that's describing nano or pico, at least, no version I've ever used had those keys doing useful stuff. Maybe this is supposed to reference some other editor?
- httpsterio 6y agoYeah uh what, I don't know any other cli editor than Nano and I'm pretty sure CTRL+O is write and CTRL+W is write and exit.
- CraftThatBlock 6y agoCtrl+X is write and exit while Ctrl+W is "where" IIRC
- saagarjha 6y ago⌃X is just close.
- evil-olive 6y agoRecent nano has changed to allow Ctrl-S to save in addition to the previous default (Ctrl-O) https://www.nano-editor.org/dist/latest/cheatsheet.html https://www.nano-editor.org/dist/latest/cheatsheet.html
- bigbizisverywyz 6y agoOh thank goodness! I'm constantly reflexively reaching for ctrl+s and then correcting myself just at the last second.
- slhdjdkskahsh 6y agoIt's only intuitive to people who grew up with PC-style keybindings as well—the editor does not appear to bind super-s despite this being the other obvious keybinding.
- oalae5niMiel7qu 6y agoHow do you save and exit from Ox? I tried :wq!, but it doesn't work!
- graynk 6y agoTook me by surprise as well
