Remember, Apple is already under review in many countries for different reasons so what some will try to portray is that all actions are predatory. throw in many governments do not like Apple's stance on encryption and they can apply pressure from more direction. Apple obviously sees some potential for these suits and regulator actions to cost them money as they delayed rolling out this feature, I suspect more from the regulatory side.
