Poll: Do you take drugs (to help you program)?
- vipivip 15y agoI take caffeine, does pizza qualify as a drug? I do order lots of pizza to keep the engine going.
- mkrecny 15y agoHaha
- glhaynes 15y agoBased on the title, I'm surprised this doesn't include more drugs.
- mkrecny 15y agoYeah I think we need a follow-up with LSD, cocaine and friends.
- Apocryphon 15y agoDoes sleep deprivation count?
- sinaiman 15y agoI answered no, but sometimes I drink alcohol during marathon coding sessions to make sure I don't stay up all night and also for fun. It always seems to help me program actually.
- aliukani 15y agoDon't need it. e: I can code all night if I have to, and caffeine can totally help with that. I just don't need it to sleep deprive myself.
- jarin 15y agoLately I've been drinking an energy drink that contains: - Caffeine - Dimethylaminoethanol (shown to increase vigilance and alertness as well as improve mood) - Methylhexanamine (stimulant) - 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP, mood enhancer) - Yohimbine (stimulant) - Vitamin B12 (minor deficiency can cause fatigue, depression, and poor memory) - Potassium citrate (not sure what it's for, Wikipedia says it prevents burning when you pee) It seems to work for me better than regular coffee or energy drinks, but I probably wouldn't recommend it if you are on medication or have a heart condition, it's pretty intense at first.
- nicksergeant 15y agoAlcohol is a drug, too.
- ggchappell 15y agoYour responses are a bit odd. The fact that caffeine is a drug, is hardly a matter of opinion, is it? Also, what about people who drink caffeinated beverages, but not with the specific intent of helping with programming?
- mkrecny 15y agoApparently it is a matter of opinion - look at the results.
- ggchappell 15y agoAh, but people thinking something is a matter of opinion, is not the same as it being one.
- mkrecny 15y agoThat's just your opinion : )
