> An experienced human driver can drive for thousands of miles without making a serious mistake
Absolute bullshit. 99% of drivers will frequently commit a series of small mistakes on an everyday <5km drive.
- Def_Os 6y agoTry to be more civil, please. And he said "a series mistake", presumably meaning something resulting in a crash. The statistics back him, in that case (1 in 500k miles, someone else mentioned).
- jiofih 6y agoIn which case Teslas incident rate is one every 5 million miles.

It's not, though. > 99% of drivers will frequently commit a series of small mistakes on an everyday <5km drive. Perhaps, but the vast majority of such series of small mistakes don't add up to a serious mistake, so that's not relevant to the claim it was offered to rebut.
- mlindner 6y agoTesla statistics say there's 1 accident every ~4.5 million miles driven on autopilot and they release those statistics. https://www.tesla.com/VehicleSafetyReport https://www.tesla.com/VehicleSafetyReport
