- wcoenen 6y agoI'm a little confused by your comment. As far as I understand, a "missense" mutation is a basic one nucleotide change which results in a change of one amino acid for the encoded protein. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missense_mutation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missense_mutation 23andme uses a "Illumina Infinium Global Screening Array" to find single nucleotide changes at certain locations, so isn't that exactly the type of thing they are detecting?
