- tinktank 6y agoIt goes too much the other way IMO. One can peddle lies, half-truths,threats, bigotry and falsehoods and hide behind the banner of free speech.
- mc32 6y agoI used to think so when I was younger, but boy was I wrong. No, freedom of speech to speak what you believe, right or wrong is worth not being subject to despotic control over your person, your thoughts.
- stjohnswarts 6y agoIt's a pretty binary thing though, with a little bit of gray area. Either you can speak your mind or you can't. I think the USA has a better take on it than Europe. Europe certainly Trumps us in health care and respect for science though and not being tricked as much by religious "leaders"
- smegcicle 6y agoOnly a little longer with a fascist like we currently have in charge and it will become 'hate speech' to disagree with a third and fourth or more four years...
- koonsolo 6y agoWe can say fuck & shit, even on tv. We can just say "black rap uses the word nigger a lot" without going into "this n-word is used a lot" What is the n-word? It's a racial slur. So what word is it? Sorry, cannot say. We can also show titties on tv without being chased by a huge mob of angry people. I don't know about laws, but in practice I'm happy to say whatever the fuck shit crap I want.
