Ask HN: Why did Amazon get rid of “users also bought” section? It was fantastic
I discovered so many amazing books through the 'users also bought'. The recommendations that amazon gives now are AI based and terrible in every way. They are never related to what I am looking at currently.
- Cieplak 6y agoLooks like it’s called Frequently bought together now. Also possible that you were flagged into an A/B test or other UI experiment. From stories I’ve heard, Amazon is not an org that makes capricious decisions; they’d only deprecate something like that if the data demonstrated a superior alternative.
