Tell HN: Transfer.sh closed again, now by Storj Labs
- app4soft 6y agoOn October 30th, 2020 Transfer.sh (site/service) closed by Storj Labs... a second time, exactly in 1 year and 11 months since it was 'near' closed by original founder. On November 30th, 2018 Transfer.sh closing was announced by its founder[0,1], but later site transferred to Storj Labs with promise to support project in the future.[2,3] FTR, On my request[4] to "turn on" uploading artifacts from GitHub to Transfer.sh again in May 31th, 2020 (this spring Storj Labs disabled[5] uploading new files without announcing), Storj Labs replied & enabled it again on June 4th, 2020.[6] Now, I'm not sure how to react on this HN news, as its broke all my Travis CI autobuilds (used by my projects on GitHub via `.travis.yml`) :/ P.S. On October 20th, 2020 Storj Labs claimed that they “does not control the domain of transfer.sh” so they “cannot make any decisions related to any proposed domain take over.”.[7] [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18331139 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18331139 [1] https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1057015323944251394 https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1057015323944251394 [2] https://twitter.com/remco_verhoef/status/1060585184905650177 https://twitter.com/remco_verhoef/status/1060585184905650177 [3] https://twitter.com/super3/status/1060592647822282757 https://twitter.com/super3/status/1060592647822282757 [4] https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1267064772371120131 https://twitter.com/app4soft/status/1267064772371120131 [5] https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1267582453356453888 https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1267582453356453888 [6] https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1268663869469274113 https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1268663869469274113 [7] https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1318698341643952128 https://twitter.com/storjproject/status/1318698341643952128
