Soylent Founder's Politics Rant Shows Tech Execs Don't Understand the World
- notJim 6y agoRhinehart's blog post [1] is one of the stupidest, unintentionally-funniest things I've ever read. I do hope someone fixes the carbon monoxide leak wherever he wrote it though. - LilPee 6y ago>First, she has stood by and watched while the city and county of San Francisco she controls has turned from a gorgeous mecca of culture and innovation into a literal hole of shit. He's not wrong
- klipt 6y agoWow. He almost makes some salient points like maybe we should drone foreigners less, but it's drowned out by his complete ignorance of basic things like how party primaries work.
- thundergolfer 6y agoHoly hell there are like 50 sentences in there that could be pulled out and pointed at as strikingly dumb and out of touch. I don’t quite believe it is written candidly. It reads like a caricature of an oblivious rich person just finding out that not all is right in the world.
- ehmish 6y agoI found it insightful, he wrote it in what appeared to be a refreshingly honest/egoless way he doesn't try to act like he understands everything. I (think) I do understand primaries and such, and while they're better than he describes them as, they're a crappy solution to the real problem of a first past the post election system and the "problem" of splitting the vote.
- pesmhey 6y agoIt reads like he cares very much about politics.
- perl4ever 6y agoIf he's a "tech executive", that implies Soylent is "tech"? Basically meal replacements are the same sort of thing as Apple, AMD, and Twitter?
- klyrs 6y agoNote to readers: make some popcorn, this one's a doozie
- randyrand 6y agoi couldn’t get through 4 paragraphs. vice comes across as such whiners.
