Most adults have the ability to discriminate between dumb stuff and smart stuff, or fake and real, don't you think? Taking away the public's opportunity to discriminate is in essence, removing our power to exercise that discrimination. Who in our society is rewarded by undiscriminating consumers, or an undiscriminating electorate?
