Waiting for incompetent and self-aggrandizing "governments" to save us is a recipe for failure. Corruption is not a problem "legislation" can solve. Instead, we should all take responsibility and act together to make society a better place. Grab the bull by the horns. The buck stops here, with us. We should all stand strong as individuals, together. Sign our own executive orders. Hold our own hearings and make decisions for ourselves. Don't let the Zuckerbergs and the Dorseys trample over your privacy and your sanity. Take charge of your life. Whip it good!

- legerdemain 6y agoWhen a problem comes along, some people run to their "government" to solve it for them. That's called Learned Helplessness.[1] Problems don't get solved because of "rules," they get solved when individuals get involved in community action. To pick two recent examples, it's useless to wait for people in suits to "conserve" the gray wolf or enact fuel economy "standards." I vote with my wallet to pressure companies constantly to produce more fuel-efficient cars, and I promote wolves and wolf appreciation in my local community. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_helplessness https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_helplessness
