  There's a huge difference between "recommend" and "keep an eye on for security purposes". After all, Mozilla doesn't seem to have a problem with UBlock Origin and similar things.

    Every non-recommended addon has that warning. Addons are recommened based on number of users, use case etc. They are meant for non-technical users, to not install shady apps (adblock plus, ultra pro plus adblocker ++, etc) The addon I linked doesnt even ask access to all sites. The developer has taken great care to request only for news sites, even though they are large in number
