I've never heard of this idea, but it's certainly interesting. Are there any reputable papers taking a look at feasibility?

- RDeckard 6y agoThere is a film starring Gerrard Butler. "Geostorm", 2017.
- zaroth 6y agoHere's a paper I should have linked in my OP considering the idea at a very high level; https://arxiv.org/ftp/astro-ph/papers/0701/0701513.pdf https://arxiv.org/ftp/astro-ph/papers/0701/0701513.pdf That particular paper is considering an Earth-Moon Lagrange Point, which is much more accessible than Earth-Sun points, but the dust cloud would be highly visible in the night sky which IMO is disqualifying as long as other alternatives exist.
- beervirus 6y agoThat paper is also talking about doing it at the stable lunar Lagrange points. So it would not realistically be possible to remove the dust once it’s in place.
