As a product designer, it's easy to see through the trend of repackaging old products with new "minimal" branding. Soylent is PediaLyte or Ensure for millenials.
You see it in every industry now not just tech.

- DaiPlusPlus 6y agoI think it misrepresents Soylent to claim it’s essentially a repackaged Pedialyte/Ensure - it had a very, very different product development process and it ostensibly has different goals.
- ctrl-j 6y agoUhhh.. PediaLyte and Ensure are vastly different products. Ensure is a weight gain meal replacement drink and PediaLyte is fancy gatorade. Soylent is somewhere between Slimfast and Ensure. I'm not positive there's a quality calorically balanced meal replacement drink out there? Maybe there is, but whatever that is, Soylent is the branded version of that. Not PediaLyte or Ensure.
