One can import from Github, but then you're stuck on Gitlab. Maybe tools like fossil[0] or git-bug[1] will pick up steam, but I have a feeling the current events will simply pass and next week we'll be talking about something different. In the meantime, some people will switch or consider alternatives and everytime this happens again, the number of those people will grow. Progress is slow.
