As I read about OP's awakening as he talked to some of the Techstars mentors, I kept thinking, "Haven't I heard this somewhere before?" Then I realized that I got many of the same feelings from reading the book _Do More Faster_ by Techstars founders David Cohen and Brad Feld. This is a collection of essays by Techstars mentors and founders sharing their experiences. I imagine that OP could have gotten a lot of perspective if he had read this book first. I already shared some of my favorite quotes from that book here: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1974020 http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1974020 I'd love to see a similar book by YCombinator mentors and founders. What a treat that would be.
