Just my 2 cents. I think it is not fair to rate programmers by the language they use. What would be fair is how they are able to deliver in the real world. Successful start-ups and other services like Facebook, Twitter, Quora, Hipmunk, etc. came to be not because they hired programmers simply based on the language they used but rather on the premise of what they can execute towards improving the company's services.
