Why You Are Attracted to Conspiracy Theories
- aaroninsf 6y agoThe example used in this article is profoundly, evenly criminally, myopic in its lack of understanding of the actual shape and dimensions of our contemporary domestic political crisis. It is objectively true that we are collectively at risk of descending into minority-ruled autocracy as a result of unprecedented dissolution of commitment to even our fig-leaf standard of contemporary democracy. The author's would-be comical-provocative focus on hyseria over Trump's personal failings and incompetence overlook that they have provided cover for the very real richly documented and alarm-bell-ringing machinations of much much smarter right-wing oligarchs and their allies.
