Why DDG considering they’re for-profit, closed-source and basically just a Bing wrapper with little transparency?
Seems like it would make more sense for Apple to build their own Bing wrapper, team up with Microsoft, or build their own search engine from scratch.

- abc-xyz 6y agoWhat value does DDG bring to Apple? Its user-base is insignificant (Apple will instantly have a larger user-base the moment they set it as the default in Safari). The branding is terrible, especially for Apple. There’s also nothing special about their tech since it’s just a Bing API wrapper. What’s in it for Apple?
