I’m starting to think that we have so many willfully ignorant people that it just might be time to burn it all down and go for herd immunity. What’s 30-40 Million deaths, really?
Big Don says it’s a hoax, maybe we should treat it like a hoax, no reason to admit people to the hospital for a hoax.
It will certainly take a lot of pressure of the hospitals.

We shouldn't aim to increase suffering, and I'm sure many of those who believe it's a hoax have had lives unfortunate enough to predispose them to that kind of conspiratorial thinking. Just a few days ago I was on a business trip to Pittsburgh, and one of my Lyft drivers was an immunocompromised man with a donor kidney. He spent half the ride talking about "COVID nanobots" and "civil race war", and the other half talking about how hard his recovery had been and how his illness had ruined his marriage and split apart his family. Noxious as his views were, I felt the urge to give him a hug, and I think that sort of compassion goes a long way (even if we can't literally hug one another these days). As Edward Snowden said of Trump in an interview with Brian Williams of MSNBC some time back, "I think Trump is a man who's never known a love he didn't have to pay for, and what he sees in his supporters are people who love him unconditionally ... that's why he does what he does." I think there's a lot to be said for more compassion and love, as corny and useless as that may sound on the surface.
