- laurent92 6y agoRetail prices are very high in Australia. I specifically remember only finding mountaineering carabineers, at $35 AUD at the time (23 EUR at the time) when they’re 8 euros in France. Same goes shoes, tshirts or kettles. Maybe the absence of large-chain competitors plays a role in cost of life being quite high. Then again, as a country, Australia would be free in deciding that it should only be affordable to people who have the means to support their life, to maintain a high quality standard and retails.
- howlgarnish 6y agoCheck out French sports retailer Decathlon, which landed in Australia a few years ago and is already making waves. Karabiners start from $12: https://decathlon.com.au/collections/climbing-karabiners-quickdraws-belay-devices https://decathlon.com.au/collections/climbing-karabiners-qui...
- Symbiote 6y agoThere is absolutely no way I'd buy such critical equipment as a carabiner from Amazon, with all the problems they have with counterfeit goods.
