It's rather sad how pervasive think kind of wink-wink-nod bribery is in our political system. Be it politicians retiring and getting $100,000s per speaking arrangement from special interests they benefited during their governance, setting up charities to use as slush funds, or taking money for influence while hardly masquerading it as business deals like Biden was caught doing. Perhaps if we paid politicians on par with CEOs there would be less temptation to find other ways to monetize their positions of power.
