- userbinator 6y ago"If you outlaw freedom, only outlaws will have freedom." This isn't all that different from the fact that sites which prominently support free speech attract all the extremists, because that's the only place they have.
- craftinator 6y agoHah I came to post with that quote in mind. But really, if the legal system is abused to remove tools that are legal but the rich and powerful don't like, they'll migrate to places where the law can't touch them.
- calvinmorrison 6y agoor just literally host a web page yourself with a link to a git repo, also on your server. All this centralization of git is silly
- rakoo 6y agoThat's because the whole point of github is not hosting, it's the collaboration. This is where centralization helps.
- kmeisthax 6y agoGit can be cloned via HTTP and it's so easy to set up that people have accidentally done it. There are loads of web shops that accidentally disclosed source code by way of having their Git deploy repo in their Apache webroot. You could literally "git clone http://poorsuckersblog.com/ http://poorsuckersblog.com/" and get everything.
