This is a sad day for the European car industry. It seems everyone except (maybe?) VW has given up on competing with Tesla and Google on self-driving.
- ehsankia 6y agoCar companies aren't tech companies, and Google isn't a car company. I don't think it would've ever worked for a car company to develop this tech, and I don't think Waymo ever plans to make its own cars. Realistically, Waymo will licensing their technology to car manufacturers.
- Devils-Avocado 6y agoThere's a general death of innovation in Europe. Blame the high taxes, endless bureaucracy and regulation, no single language, welfare state, and mass immigration.
